MANUFACTURE OF FLAT BATTERY

PURPOSE:To prevent any breakage of a thermal adhesive layer or an aluminum layer installed inside exterior films so as to improve the reliability of a flat battery by removing any thermal influence which might be caused during the thermal fusion of exterior films by improving the structure of a pressure fusion metallic mold. CONSTITUTION:Since a metallic mold 13' used in stucking together exterior films encircling a generation element by thermal press has a square cylindrical shape and its top is open, there is no possibility that heat is kept inside a space 15 thereby preventing the shoulder portion 16 of the battery from being heated and deteriorated. In such a flat battery constituted by pressing and fusing the peripheries of the thermal adhesive layers of an upper and a lower exterior film 4 and 9 in such a manner that they encircle a flat generation element, there is no possibility that the end portion 12 of a current collector 15 located inside the shoulder portion 16 is affected by heat generated during the thermal fusion, thereby preventing any breakage of partial areas near the end portion 12 of a thermal adhesive layer 3 and an aluminum layer.
