PURPOSE:To obtain an accurate outer casing of a sliding bearing by making the outer casing of a shape memory alloy and causing the outer casing to be restored to a shape preliminarily put in memory by heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:A material of a shape memory alloy 4 heat treated at a memory temperature is finished by cutting or forming into a shape of an outer casing having inside concave spherical surfaces 5. The shape and dimensions of the concave spherical surface 5 are so determined as to be restored to a precision of a range M7 of the fitting tolerance of a bushing ('RURON') 1, in relation to the convex spherical surface 3 of the bushing 1. Then, the shape memory alloy 4 is forcedly expanded, and after the bushing 1 is inserted and assembled in the expanded shape memory alloy 4, the assembly in heated to a predetermined temperature. Therefore, the shape memory alloy 4 is contractedly restored to the shape in memory to from an accurate outer casing.
