Method for manufacturing rings from cast iron by machining blanks, characterised in that: - a mould made from sand and staggered clusters is produced, with static casting under gravity, for multiple annular hoops (rings) of height H capable of several blanks, these hoops (rings) being, at each stage, distributed at an equal distance around one or more downgates (downscrews) 2 while being separated from each other by at least a considerable fraction of their height H, - in that use is made for this casting operation of cast iron adapted as a function of the diameter D of the rings in order to ensure a balance between the graphitising, refining and perlite-stabilising elements, and - in that, next, each hoop (ring) is subdivided by cutting or saw-milling, in order to obtain the various blanks. <IMAGE>
