PURPOSE:To produce a figured glass having deep and sharp figured patterns, by casting a glass raw material on a formed plate of a glass raw material and forming the material to a prescribed thickness while forming the figured patterns. CONSTITUTION:A glass raw material 19 in a smelting furnace 11 is poured out through a lip tile 18, transferred and formed with forming rolls 13, 14 in the form of plate glass 20' having a thickness corresponding to about 1/2 of the thickness of the objective glass. A glass raw material 19 is poured on the glass 20' through a trough 17 and is formed to a figured glass 21' having a prescribed thickness between forming rolls 15, 16 while embossing the top face of the supplied glass 20' with an upper forming roll 15. The glass 21' is introduced through a dead plate 22 and layer rolls 23 into an annealing chamber 12 and annealed.
