The present invention relates to the lasts (shapes) used on moulds for moulding soles by direct injection. According to the invention, the peripheral surface of the last (shape) 5 located in line with the join plane of the cut-gum 4 of the mould includes, at least in line with those parts of the upper having variations in thickness with a steep gradient, elastic join elements 9 having a coefficient of compressibility greater than that of the material constituting the upper. The invention makes it possible to avoid the burrs which appear in line with variations in thickness of the upper. <IMAGE>
