摘要 PURPOSE:To perform inspection of the operating characteristic of a fail-safe mechanism accurately and speedily, by steering front wheels and, after rear wheels are steered, inspecting the reset of these rear wheels to the rectilinear direction by operation of the fail-safe mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A steering wheel 3 is steered and both front and rear wheels are largely steered. Next, a solenoid valve 37 of a rear-wheel steering means 10 is opened and a fail-safe mechanism is operated. If so, each hydraulic pressure in both hydraulic chambers 13a and 13b of an actuator becomes equalized, and a piston 12 comes to a neutral position by dint of return springs 14a and 14b, thus rear wheels are restored to a rectilinear state. This reset is detected by a rear-wheel angle measuring means, and whether the fail-safe mechanism is operated or not is inspected at a compare check means. With this constitution, operating confirmation of the fail-safe mechanism is accurately and speedily performable.
