PURPOSE:To control an engine in a good condition, by examining the condition of generating roughness in a specific period, and feedback-controlling the engine control amount depending on the roughness, while increasing the engine control amount in a specific period after detecting the roughness. CONSTITUTION:A control unit 15 finds a basic fuel injection quantity by a device (a basic injection quantity computing device) 21, depending on the signals of an air flow meter 6 and a crank angle sensor 17, adds a correction in a high load time or in an acceleration time by a device (a correction device for a high load, an acceleration, and the like) 22, and drives a fuel injection valve 8 through a driving device 23. Moreover, a control device 25 examines the variation condition for a specific time, for example, to determine the roughness generating condition by a device (roughness generating condition deciding device) 26 depending on the output of a roughness detecting device 24 which detects the roughness of the engine by the engine rotation speed variation depending on the signal of a sensor 17, and the fuel injection quantity is corrected to increase tentatively for a specific time when the roughness is detected by a correction device 28, as well as the fuel injection quantity is feedback-controlled at every specific time by a feedback control device 27. In such a way, the time of the decrease of rotation speed after the generation of the roughness can be reduced without losing the stability of control.
