PURPOSE:To reduce manhours for manufacturing a hollow valve by forming a pipe-shaped hollow shaft of rolled up heat resisting steel plate, and joining a valve head and a valve spindle end to its both ends respectively to make a hollow valve for the suction and exhaust valve of an internal combustion engine. CONSTITUTION:A pipe-shaped hollow shaft 22b is formed of a rolled up heat resisting steel plate 22a. A valve head 21 and a valve spindle end 23 which are preformed are joined to both the ends of the hollow shaft 22b respectively. A boring process for the hollow shaft cam be thereby be omitted to reduce manhours for manufacturing a hollow valve.
