PURPOSE:To transmit a rotating power effectively even if a large load fluctuation occurs in compressing and expanding strokes of a piston by installing a geared continuously variable transmission in a transmission line through which power of a d.c. motor is transmitted to an output rotating shaft. CONSTITUTION:When a starting switch is made on, a pinion 14a is made to slide by an electromagnetic switch 15 to engage to the ring gear of a engine and a d.c. motor 11 is drived simultaneously and then the rotating power is transmitted to a pinion 14a through a geared continuously variable transmission 20 and the engine starts. This geared continuously variable transmission 20 makes an input frame 26 and an output frame 33 to rotate relatively by a fixed angle through an elastic torsion member 38 by a torque load of an output shaft 12 and controls the angular velocity of the input and output shaft, by changing a combined angle through an one-way clutch between input non- circular planetary gears 31, 31b or between output non-circular planetary gears 40, 40b. Thus even if the large load fluctuation in compressing and expanding strokes occurs, the rotating power is effectively transmitted with small power loss. |
