PURPOSE:To shorten a temperature measurement time, and to reduce the cost of a device and reduce the size of a heat sensing part by applying a specific voltage to a thermistor element and heating it. CONSTITUTION:The specific voltage is applied from a battery 6 to the thermistor element 1 through the parallel resistance of resistances 4 and 5 and the thermistor 1 is heated. Then, a control circuit 8 turns off switches 10 and 11 continuously from time t1 to time t2 which is a specific time later and also turns on a switch 12. Consequently, a Wheatstone bridge circuit for temperature measurement is constituted to measure the temperature of the thermistor 1. Then the self-heating mode and temperature measurement mode of the thermistor element 1 are repeated in order and thus the thermistor element 1 is made to heat itself and approximate its temperature to the bodily temperature speedily, thereby shortening the time required for the bodily temperature measurement.
