PURPOSE:To prevent adhesion of ink to a worker and to quicken trimming work, by providing a trimming means comprising a coating member and a sucking member for applying a mark onto the end face of paper. CONSTITUTION:A coating member 5 is fixed at a position separated by a prede termined distance on the downstream of a print head along the carrying direc tion of paper 4 at the edge section side of the upper face of the paper 4, mova bly in lateral direction of the paper 4 along a pair of guide rails 7, and the coating member 5 is comprised of a slide section 5a, an ink section 5b and a coating section 5c. A suction member 6 comprises a suction press section 6a provided entirely in the lateral direction of paper at the rear face side and a cleaning section 6b. When a mark is applied onto paper containing informa tion, an operational buttom is first depressed so as to advance/retract the ink section 5b and the coating section 5c toward/from the paper 4 thus contacting therewith. Consequently, ink is fed from the ink section 5b and applied onto the paper by means of the coating section 5c which rolls over the paper 4. |
