PURPOSE:To enable reading out and printing of alarm information at any time even when the power source is turned off in error, by operating a searching means, and retrieving and specifying an empty address when alarm information is stored. CONSTITUTION:A coding means 2 codes various alarms detected through detection means 1 and feeds the coded alarms as coded alarm information to a writing means 3. The writing means 3 writes the coded alarm information fed from the coding means 2 to a nonvolatile memory means 4. When the coded alarm information is written into the nonvolatile memory means 4, a search means 7 operates to retrieve an empty address so as to specify a memory area for the output from the coding means. The coded alarm information written into the nonvolatile memory 4 remains as it is even if the power source for the printing machine is turned off. Consequently, the coded alarm information can be read out and printed at any time through the printing means 5.
