The invention relates to a programme controller with a follow-up control, in particular in washing machines or dish-washing machines, having a preselection disc which can be turned by hand, and having a programme drum driven by the drive motor, and having means which, by means of an axial displacement caused by sloping surfaces, actuate a control lever for a control contact which, during the axial movement, controls an increased rotary speed of the programme drum. In this case, the sloping surfaces are active between the end faces of the preselection disc and the programme drum, and the control lever is actuated by the preselection disc.
