Conveying apparatus in which a slide, which is longitudinally displaceably mounted on a base frame and is provided with a load pusher, can be moved by means of a drive. In order, in the case of a short stroke, to be able to cover many times the latter as a conveying distance, in particular in confined space conditions, a compactly and simply constructed conveying device is made available, in which the slide has an endless drawing means drive, extending in the direction of motion of the slide, in which drawing means drive the load pusher is rigidly connected to the one strand of the drawing means drive and in which, furthermore, a stationary clamping device interacts with the strands of the drawing means drive in order alternately to clamp strands during successive movement steps, which exhibit changes of direction, of the slide.
