PURPOSE:To obtain the titled catalyst capable of stably forming a highly stereoregular polymer, by blending a component prepared by bringing a component obtained by prepolymerizing olefins in contact with a solid containing Ti, Mg and a halogen in the presence of specific A compounds into contact with a specific Si compound with an oprganoaluminum compound. CONSTITUTION:The aimed catalyst for polymerization obtained by blending (A) a component prepared by bringing (i) a component obtained by bringing olefins into contact with a solid component consisting essentially of titanium, magnesium and a halogen in the presence of an organoaluminum compound and aluminum compound expressed by the formula AlX3 (X is halogen) to carry out prepolymerization into contact with (ii) a silicon compound expressed by the formula R<1>R3-n<2>Si(OR<3>)n (R<1> is branched chain hydrocarbon residue; R<2> is hydrocarbon residue which is same or different from R<1>; R<3> is hydrocarbon residue; 1<=n<=3) with (B) organoaluminum compound.
