The present invention relates to weaving preparation and serves for feeding the edge warp threads of a warp during drawing into the healds and/or warp-thread stop-motion drop wires of a weaving machine. The object to be achieved is principally to vary the signal acquisition by making it largely independent of the properties of the warp-thread material. According to the invention, the edge warp thread triggering the signal is brought into connection with an opto-electric converter.
