The invention relates to a hazard warning light (1) on a motor vehicle with an On-Off switch (5) which can be actuated manually, a flasher unit (2) and four flashing lights (3) at the corner areas of the motor vehicle. According to the invention, a brake intensity signal transmitter (brake pressure signal transmitter 12) and a downstream limit value signal transmitter (9) with a specific response threshold are also provided. When a specific brake intensity is exceeded, the limit value signal transmitter (9) emits a control signal which switches on the hazard warning system (1) via a relay (7) or via a relay contact (6). In this way, a warning and signals are provided for other road users by means of the hazard warning system when severe braking processes occur. <IMAGE>
