PURPOSE:To convert only a desired color in a picture to a desired color by identifying a color represented by a signal the highest in plural input picture signals and checking whether the identified result coincides with a designated color. CONSTITUTION:When there is an instruction for converting a converted color CLS to a color CLD to be converted, whether the level of the component of the CLS color of the picture signal inputted at that time is maximum or not and when it is the maximum, it is changed to the signal of the CLD and outputted. When the picture signal higher in the level than the signal of the CLS color is present, the exchange of the signal is prohibited. For instance, when the picture having more B color is converted to an R color, if B>R is not obtained and B>G is not obtained in the area of an original color, the color conversion is not carried out. Namely, the color conversion is executed in an area recognized as the converted color by an operator, however, the color conversion is not executed in the area which is not recognized as the converted color by the operator. |
