The invention relates to a sliding wall arrangement for covered goods wagons and containers in which the sliding walls have wall components with formed-on roof sections and can be expanded into a displacement position by means of extension devices arranged at least on the roof ridge. Starting from the object of increasing the sealing and functional reliability of the sliding walls, accompanied by reduced complexity, and further improving the accessibility to the loading space, the sliding walls 1 meet with the formed-on roof sections 2 in a sealing fashion in the longitudinal centre 4 of the wagon and cover the roof ridge 3, two parallel support profiles for the roof sections 2 being arranged on the top 6 of the roof ridge 3, the said roof section 2 forming on the roof ridge 3 an upwardly open channel 10 which extends in the longitudinal centre of the wagon and the extension elements 15 being capable of moving out of the top 6 of the roof ridge 3. <IMAGE>
