PURPOSE:To obtain a carrier for electrophotography which maintains a stable electrostatic charge characteristic for a log period of time by using a curable fluorine-containing polymer as a coating resin for the carrier and crosslinking the polymer after coating. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic particles are coated by the curable fluorine-containing polymer constituted of fluoroolefin, alkyl vinyl ether, cyclohexl vinyl ether, and glycidyl vinyl ether or hydroxyalkyl vinyl ether. The surface energy of the curable fluorine copolymer is, therefore, decreased by the presence of the fluoroolefin, by which good non-tackiness to a toner is exhibited. Curability is imparted to the copolymer by the presence of the cyclohexl vinyl ether and glycidyl vinyl ether or the cyclohexl vinyl ether and hydroxyalkyl vinyl ether. The coating having excellent wear resistance for a log period of time is thereby easily formed on the carrier surface. |
