PURPOSE:To prevent color formation in parts outside an original region by heating only the non-image part during the time except the heating and developing time of a positive type heat developable photosensitive material. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive material S having a reduced original image is heated in the parts except the original image by a heating head 52 before said material is subjected to heating and developing. The head 52 is divided to plural regions and is controlled in energization by a controller 54. The entire region is energized and the material is heated over the entire width when the region C having no original image passes along the head. The parts E, G are energized to heat the parts except the original image when the region D having the original image passes along the head. Since the length of the regions C, D is determined according to the degree of reduction, the controller 54 stores the passing time and changes over the heat generating regions of the head 52. The color formability of the non-image part is thereby lost and, therefore, the image recording without having unnecessary color formation is permitted even if the original is subjected to reduction exposure. |
