PURPOSE:To reduce ununiformity of developed color density, by providing one or a plurality of holes in a heat generating resistor provided on a substrate, and controlling the resistance of each heat generating part to a predetermined value by the holes. CONSTITUTION:Branch electrodes 2a of a common wire 2 and signal electrodes 3 corresponding respectively to the branch electrodes 2a are provided on a substrate 1 by applying a conductive paste by printing, followed by firing the paste. Then, a resistor paste is applied by printing so as to bridgingly connect the branch electrodes 2a to the signal electrodes 3, followed by firing to provide a band-shaped resistor 4. Thereafter, the resistor is irradiated continuously with a laser beam by a laser drilling device correspondingly to the electrodes to form separating grooves 5, thereby producing independent heat generating resistors 4a. At the time of providing the resistor 4a with holes 6 by laser drilling, the number of laser-drilled holes is increased while monitoring the resistance of the resistor 4a, thereby controlling the resistance. Thus, scatter of the resistances of the resistors can be reduced, and recording with high image quality can be performed. |
