PURPOSE:To minimize the increase in the capacity of a bit-mapped memory and enable high-speed printing, by constructing the bit-mapped memory by adding a predetermined storage capacity to a storage capacity necessary for printing on one sheet of cut paper, and performing imaging in the bit-mapped memory and reading from the bit-mapped memory through parallel processing based on a ring buffer system. CONSTITUTION:Dot data for a page to be printed is written into a bit-mapped memory 2 by a CPU 1 on the basis of printing data in a work RAM 3. When bit data is developed for one, the CPU 1 starts a main body 6 of a laser printer through an interface circuit 7. The main body 6 of the laser printer issues a request for reading to a reading-controlling circuit 4, whereby reading from the memory 2 is started, and printing is conducted by the main body 6 of the laser printer. In this operation, when an area capable of imaging is present in the memory 2 at the time of imaging for the next page after the main body 6 of the laser printer is started, imaging into the area can be performed before printing (reading) is actually started. |
