PURPOSE:To permit common processing of negative type and positive type PS plates and to permit stable maintenance of a developing process even if many sheets of the plates are continuously processed by developing the PS plates by a developing soln. to be repeatedly used, then rinsing the plates and supplying the substantially unused same rinsing liquid or nonsensitizing liquid to the plate surfaces and processing said surfaces. CONSTITUTION:The unused rinsing liquid or nonsensitizing liquid prepd. by feeding and mixing the rinsing liquid or nonsensitizing liquid in a rinsing liquid and nonsensitizing liquid tank 22 and the wafer for dilution in a dilution water tank 22' fed respectively by pumps 23, 23' is supplied from a processing liquid supply nozzle 7'' to the planographic printing plate (PS) plate which is subjected to the developing process in a developing process section 1 and is discharged from a rinsing process section 2 after passing said section.
