A thermally sprayed object comprises a substrate, a metal layer thermally sprayed on and having a rough surface on a part of the substrate and a metal layer having a glossy surface which is formed on another part of the substrate. The rough surface has an appearance like sandpaper and is formed by thermally spraying a molten metal, such as aluminium, onto the surface of the substrate. The glossy surface is produced by plating of the substrate or by polishing of the surface of the metal layer which has been thermally sprayed on.
