<p>PURPOSE:To improve desulfurizing rate and to reduce cost by passing repeatedly waste gas zigzag through a moving bed of a dry desulfurizing agent in contact therewith along the flow direction thereof and using the deteriorated desulfurizing agent as a reducing agent for a sulfur recovering stage. CONSTITUTION:The inside of a desulfurizing column 1 is segmented to many upper and lower stages by plural guide plates 8 to form a zigzag passage 9. The waste gas 10 through an introducing port 4 ascends zigzag by intersecting repeatedly orthogonally the moving bed 6 of a desulfurizing agent and is thus desulfurized. The desulfurizing agent adsorbing SOx is fed through a passage 13 to a regenerating tower 2, where the desulfurizing agent is heated and regenerated. The powdered desulfurizing agent is separated with a screen 17 and thereafter a regenerated desulfurizing agent 20 is fed through a passage 19 to the column 1, and is thus cyclically used. A part of the agent 20 is fed together with a powdered agent 18 through a passage 21 to a reducing column 3 and is used as a reducing agent. The adsorbed gaseous SO2 from the column 2 is fed to the column 3 where simple substance sulfur 26 is produced. A high desulfurizing rate is obtd. by using the inexpensive desulfurizing agent having relatively low activity such as carbonized char of brown coal and the above-mentioned method is economical.</p> |
