A gaging tool for checking the alignment of spaced apart holes (18, 20) located on a common axis, having particular utility for checking the alignment of bearing seats on half round end yokes of universal joints. A pair of gage bushings (14, 16) are secured in the bearing seats (18, 20) by retaining straps (24). An alignment bar (12) is passed through the internal gage bore (28) of one of the bushings (14). When the bearing seats or holes (18, 20) are in alignment, the alignment bar (12) will pass into the other (16) of the pair of gage bushings. Sets of bushings (14), (16) are provided to check different sized holes (18, 20), e.g square holes. <IMAGE>
