发明名称 METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING VAPOR PHASE REACTION
摘要 PURPOSE:To continuously and easily control the reaction conditions of gas to be reacted, by bringing two kinds of solid substances into contact wherein rectification characteristics are caused by bringing them into contact with each other and controlling voltage impressed between the solid substances. CONSTITUTION:Copper oxide is provided as p-type semiconductor substance to an electrode S1 and zinc oxide is provided as n-type semiconductor substance to an electrode S2. Gas G to be reacted e.g. air mixed with trace carbon monoxide is introduced into the joining face of these two electrodes S1, S2. DC voltage E is impressed between the electrodes S1, S2 and thereby carbon dioxide is produced but the velocity of this chemical reaction can be controlled by changing voltage E. By such a way, the reaction velocity and the kind of gas to be allowed to react can be selectively controlled by impressed voltage E. This method is especially useful for removing trace carbon monoxide mixed into air.
