A snap-action switch comprises a switch plate 26 pivoted on posts (22), 23 (see Fig. 4) on a terminal 19, an actuating lever 34 pivoted at one end in a V-groove 36 in the switch housing 10 and with its other end extending between posts (22), 23 for engagement by an actuating button 47, and a tension spring 45 connected between blade 26 and lever 34 and extending between arms (24, 25, Fig. 4) of blade 26 and between the posts. On depression of button 47 lever 34 pivots about 36 and moves spring 45 through the centre line of blade 26 so the latter snaps from contact 32 to contact 33. Lever 34 has a laterally offset portion 38 (Fig. 4) providing clearance for the blade 26. The terminals 19, 14, 15 are mounted in slots in housing 10 and held by a cover (11, Fig. 2). |
