In laminated composite material with a functional layer, preferably a slip layer, whose essential component is formed by one or more substances with anti-adhesive properties, for example polytetrafluoroethylene, and with a support layer, for example a steel back, with the use of an aromatic polyether-based thermoplastic fused in between the functional layer and the support layer, the film forming the functional layer is pretreated at least at its surface to be joined to the support layer by an electrical discharge in a plasma under reduced pressure. Polyether ether ketone is preferably to be used as adhesion promoter, in particular if the film forming the functional layer contains essentially PTFE as anti-adhesive component.
