In sealed cells, such as lithium-thionyl chloride cells, the interfacial area of the cell's housing and the stopper and/or the internal surface area of the cell's housing is prone to leakage. We have solved the problem by coating these areas with a vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropropylene-containing sealant.
