PURPOSE:To ensure the transmission of waves with small reflection over a wide range of bands, by forming a coupling hole to a wide tube wall surface covering the axial directions of square and tapered waveguides of a primary waveguide and close to a narrow tube wall surface. CONSTITUTION:In case the waves of different frequencies fL and fH are led into a square waveguide 2 of a primary waveguide 1, the working principle is equal to conventional one for the wave of fH. However, the coupling degree is large and small to the waves of fL and fH respectively since the magnetic field component of the tube axial direction is proportional to lambdag and therefore lambdag increases as the frequency becomes lower. A coupling hole 6 is positioned over the waveguide 2 and a tapered waveguide 3 to the wave of fL and therefore can be selected at a proper small distance from an equivalent reflecting surface which is formed by the waveguide 3. At the same time, the phase change can be set in a small ratio for the wave reflected from the equivalent reflecting surface of the waveguide 3 at the position of the hole 6 to the frequency. As a result, it is possible to transmit the waves to a branch waveguide 4 over a wide range of bands via the hole 6. |
