PURPOSE:To decrease the number of parts, and to obtain a plug at a low cost by providing a plug having a control having a projecting part for abutting on a projection and pressing a detaining claw of an elastic detaining piece to the outside, and allowing a projecting part to pass through, at the time of inserting/drawing out a ferrule part of a plug frame into and from an alignment sleeve. CONSTITUTION:At the time of assembling a plug, an optical fiber 4 is exposed in the end part of a plastic optical cord 5, and thereafter, the optical code 5 is allowed to pass through a hole 3a of a cord tube 3. The cord tube 3 is inserted into a hole 1f of a plug frame 1, and the optical fiber 4 is inserted into a hole 1b of a ferrule 1a. In this case, by deflection of a deflecting member 3b, a saw-like part 3c of the code tube 3 is caught in the hole 1f of the plug frame 1 and fixed, and also, the optical code 5 is also pressed by the deflecting member 3b and fixed. A control 2 is pushed in from the rear end of the plug frame 1 until a projection 1c and a stepped 1e of the plug frame 1 are positioned at an opening part 2c of the control 2, and subsequently, the end face of the ferrule 1a is finished to a specular surface together with the end face of the plastic optical fiber.
