PURPOSE:To obtain the titled insert-proofing preparation free from the lowering of activity of active core substance in various environment, by using N,N- diethyl-m-toluamide as a core substance and a material capable of freely controlling the dissipation rate of the core substance as a wall material. CONSTITUTION:The objective insect-proofing preparation is produced by using N,N-diethyl-m-toluamide of formula as a core substance and forming microcapsule of the core substance with a wall material having no adverse effect to the activity of diethyltoluamide, capable of freely controlling the extent of the slowly releasing property and keeping the strength of microcapsule even by the impartment of slow-releasing property, e.g. polyamide resin, polyester resin, polyurea resin, polyurethane resin, etc. The formation of microcapsule can be carried out preferably by interfacial polymerization or in-situ process. The activity of diethyltoluamide which is an excellent repellent lasts long.
