PURPOSE:To obtain the titled Al-alloy powder compact having strength at high temp., by providing a compact of the rapidly solidified powder of an Al alloy containing respectively prescribed amounts of Si, one or more elements among Fe, Mn, and Ni,and further one or more elements among Mo, Cr, and Zr. CONSTITUTION:The titled Al-alloy powder compact is formed of the rapidly solidified powder of an Al alloy consisting of, by weight ratio, 10-30% Si, 4-8% of one or more elements among Fe, Mn, and Ni, and the balance Al and further containing, if necessary, 0.5-5% Cu and/or 0.2-3% Mg. This Al- alloy powder compact maintains the strength of the conventional Al-alloy powder compact and has improved creep characteristics in the application to sliding member to be used under high-temp. and heavy-load conditions. Accordingly, the design stress can be heightened, and lightening weight to a greater extent and following property improvement can be contrived.
