PURPOSE:To perform decision of exhaust gas recirculation control in short time, by performing fuel supply with average of factor provided from a concentration detector in predetemined operating region while with predetermined level in specific operating region to stop exhaust gas recirculation. CONSTITUTION:An electronic control unit 5 will receive inputs from various sensors such as throttle valve sensor 4 to detect in which region of air/fuel ratio feedback control operating region and a plurality of other specific operating regions it is operating to calculate average of factors variable in accordance to the output from O2 sensor during feedback control operation. Under specific operating region in a plurality of specific operating regions, for example lean region, fuel is fed while applying the average value as factor and under other region, for example idle region or throttle valve full-open region, specific value is applied to feed fuel and to stop exhaust recirculation. In such a manner air/ fuel ratio is optimized under each operating region while decision requird for fuel feed control and exhaust gas recirculation control can be performed in short time. |
