PURPOSE:To enhance the efficiency of measuring work and to secure the safety of a worker, by synthesizing the content of a digital value to be measured and a sound signal to output the same as audible sound. CONSTITUTION:An input signal 101 such as DC voltage, a DC current, AC voltage, an AC current or resistance is converted to the DC voltage signal 102 proportional to the input signal by an input signal converting circuit 2, and said voltage signal 102 is converted to a digital signal 103 by an A/D converter circuit 3 to be inputted to a digital processing circuit 4. The circuit 4 converts the signal 103 not only to the data adapted to a display circuit 5 to send out said data to the circuit 5 as display data 104a but also to be numerical value data 104b suitable for the processing due to a sound synthesizing circuit 6 to send out both data to the circuit 6. The circuit 6 forms a signal 106 representing the sound obtained from the measured value and unit (volt, ampre or ohm) shown by the data 104b. The signal 106 is outputted as sound heard by a human being by a sound output circuit 7. Further, the circuit 4 also performs the control of the start and finish of measurement, the time interval of sound output and the whole of the apparatus.
