<p>Liq. crystal polymer comprises a polymer (1) and a low mol. cpd. (2). The polymer (1) has a proton donor and/or a proton acceptor but exhibits no liq. crystal properties. The low mol. cpd. (2) has a proton acceptor and/or a proton donor and/or acceptor of the polymer. The polymer (1) can be polyvinylacetate, polyacrylic acid or polyvinyl alcohol. The low mol. cpd. is one kind of cpd. of formula A-X-Y-Z, where A is an end gp. having a proton donor and/or a proton acceptor; X is a ring gp. (e.g., benzene ring, biphenyl ring, cyclohexane ring); Y is a centre gp. (-O-, -COO-or -OC-) and Z is a chiral end gp.; A contains an OH gp. and/or a carboxylic acid gp. such as B-(CH2)p-D-(CH2)p-E-, where B is OH, -COOH, -C(CH3)(CH2OH)2 or -C(CH3)(CH2OCOCH3)2; D is a single bond or -COO-; E is -COO- or -O-; p is 1-10; q is 1-20; Z is -(CH2)m-RCH-(CH2)n-CH3, where R is a low C alkyl gp., hydrogen atom or nitride gp.; m is 0-5, n = 0 or 1.</p> |
