PURPOSE:To improve both abrasive strength and accuracy of finished surface regarding an abrasive material for grinding crystal and the like by constituting with silicon carbide mixed with niobium-related substance containing 0.5-20% weight of niobium. CONSTITUTION:Since an abrasive material for grinding, dicing, and honing crystal, ferrite or the like for example is constituted by mixing niobium-related substance containing 0.5-20% weight ratio of niobium, an effect not to coagulate silicon carbide during grinding and an effect to melt ground object are obtained due to the niobium-related substance mixed uniformly in the silicon carbide. Therefore, the abrasive material effects always fresh abrasive effect on the ground object, causing a great abrasive strength even with a small diameter of the abrasive material particles. Since the abrasive material does not coagulate during grinding, the ground surface is not damaged and moreover it is possible to obtain a fine finish of the surface due to the effect of melting the surface. Thus, rationalization becomes possible by performing from rough grinding to finishing in one process. |
