PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body high in photosensitivity and flexibility by forming a photosensitive layer contg. a specified disazo pigment as an effective component on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:An intended electrophotographic sensitive body is obtained by forming on a conductive substrate of an aluminum plate or the like a photosensitive layer contg. as an effective component a disazo pigment represented by formula I in which A is one of formulae II-V; R<1> is H, alkyl, phenyl, or the like; X is a hydrocarbon ring or hetero ring, or the like; Y is same as X; R<2> is hydrocarbon; R<3> is alkyl, COOH, or the like; and Ar is a hydrocarbon ring. The disazo pigment of formula I is obtained by diazotizing 1,4-bis(4-aminophenyl)-1,3- butadiene and carrying out a coupling reaction with a corresponding coupler in the presence of alkali in a proper solvent. |
