<p>A method and apparatus are disclosed for compacting a soil stratum by vibrations, with the aid of at least one vibration-transferring member which can be driven into the soil stratum. This member transfers vibrations from a vibration generating means to the soil stratum. In accordance with the invention, the axial extension of the vibrationtransferring member is variable both before and in conjunction with the vibration compaction by the member being implemented such as to be resilient, elastic or flexible.</p> |
