PURPOSE:To facilitate preparing a coating liquid for forming a recording layer and prevent a substrate from being dissolved by the coating liquid, by using a fluorinated nitrile compound as a solvent for preparing the coating liquid. CONSTITUTION:A fluorinated nitrile compound is an organic compound containing at least one fluorine atom and a cyano group in one molecule thereof, and may be any such compound capable of serving as a solvent for a coloring matter. The coloring matter may be any one conventionally known as a recording material for an information recording medium. The fluorinated nitrile compound used as the solvent ensures high solubilities of the coloring matters therein, so that a coating liquid for forming a recording layer can be easily prepared. The compound does not dissolve a substrate constituted of a plastic material such as a polycarbonate, so that the substrate will not be dissolved in the coating process. |
