PURPOSE:To simplify structure and reduce its size by switching a system which cuts a switching cord for depth mechanically in a cord disconnecting mechanism with a cutter, etc., to a system which fuses and cuts the cord with a heater such as a nichrome wire, etc. CONSTITUTION:The depth switching cord 8 is wound with the heater 11 made basically of the nichrome wire, etc., in a coil shape and they are sheathed with a shrinkable tube 12 which insulates heat from sea water; and a current is supplied to an electric conductor 9 led out of both ends of the heater 11 to cause the heater 11 to generate heat, and the depth switching cord 8 is fused and cut to perform depth switching. This method simplifies the structure and reduces its size.
