<p>PURPOSE:To strengthen abrasive force while improving surface accuracy by constituting an abrasive material by mixing a niobium-related substance containing 0.5-20% weight of niobium into aluminum oxide. CONSTITUTION:Since an abrasive material is constituted with aluminum oxide mixed with a niobium-related substance containing 0.5-20% weight ratio of niobium, the niobium-related substance containing niobium mixed uniformly in aluminum oxide produces an effect not to coagulate aluminum oxide being abraded and an effect to increase surface area of aluminum oxide powder. With these effects, always fresh abrasive effect is given to an abraded workpiece so that a large abrasive force can be applied to the abraded workpiece. Since the abrasive material does not coagulate, the finished surface is fine and the surface accuracy is improved. Sufficient effect is obtained particularly when used on optical glass, plate glass for IC substrates, gems, ceramic, metal, etc.</p> |
