PURPOSE:To enable high quality printing by reducing skew or wrinkle generation of an ink donor sheet, by applying a specific range of back tension to the ink donor sheet supplied to a thermal transfer printer. CONSTITUTION:When the width of an ink donor sheet is set to Lcm and the max. diameter and the min. diameter of a supply roll 25 to R1, R2cm, back tension of R1.L.400/26-R2.L.2,000/26gcm is applied to the ink donor sheet delivered from the supply roll 25. A brake mechanism 21 as a means for applying back tension can be constituted of a pair of brake plates 23, 33 connected at one ends thereof in a freely automatically movable manner by a pin 22 and torsion spring 24 for allowing both of them to approach with each other. |
