摘要 PURPOSE:To shorten an inspection time and to reduce the whole size of a measuring device by arranging two measuring instruments on both sides of a nuclear fuel pellet and measuring the perpendicularity of two opposite end surfaces of the nuclear fuel pellet at the same time. CONSTITUTION:A differential transformer 6b which detects the quantity of axial movement of an internal cylinder 7 to an intermediate cylinder part 6 is loaded in an external cylinder part 6. Further, a differential transformer 7j which detects the quantity of axial movement of a rod 7g to the internal cylinder part 7 is loaded in the insertion part 7b of the internal cylinder part 7. Then, the nuclear fuel pellet 3 is placed on a V block 2 and held by a holding device 4. Then the differential transformer 7j detects the quantity of movement of the rod 7g to the internal cylinder part 7. Then an arithmetic unit detects the perpendicularity of two opposite end surfaces of the nuclear fuel pellet 3 at the same time according to said quantity of movement. The differential transformer 6b, on the other hand, detects the quantity of movement of the internal cylinder part 7 to the intermediate cylinder part 6b and the arithmetic unit detects the overall length of the nuclear fuel pellet from the quantity of movement.
