PURPOSE:To decrease the number of stages of register groups and to reduce the size of a measuring instrument by selecting a slicer output according to a peak level and inputting it to a rising time register. CONSTITUTION:When a pulse signal is applied to a multistage slicer circuit 2, a slicer selecting circuit 3 sends a slicer specified by a slicer control circuit 4 to a control circuit 7. Then a peak level storage circuit 6 stores the output of the circuit 2 and detects the peak level only when there is the information collection signal 8 of the circuit 7. Then a measurement level calculation arithme tic circuit 26 calculates a measurement level and a rising slicer selecting circuit 27 reads time information on the selected slicer in a rising time cyclic register 28 in order. Then when the peak level varies, the register 28 is reread cyclically corresponding to the slicer changed by the circuit 27 in response to a peak level variation detection instruction from the circuit 26. Therefore, processing is performed by a small number of rising time register groups, and the device is reduced in size.
