PURPOSE:To make a titled device inexpensive and to eliminate the need for coupling with a computer, by inputting alphanumerics in 8-bit code to an external device, through the conversion of items in alphanumerics at data output from 16 bits into 8 bits. CONSTITUTION:In depressing an output indication key 5, a 16-bit code for one character's share is taken out from an input buffer 2 and inputted to an input register 6. The content of the 16-bit code and of a conversion table 7 is compared, and if dissident, the content of the input register 6 is transferred to an output register 8, and if coincident, a corresponding alphanumeric code output 12 is inputted to an output register 8. The high-order 8 bits of the register 8 are discriminated at a decoder 9, and if not an alphanumeric, the content of the register 8 is transferred to an output buffer 4 as it is, and if so, only the low- order 8 bits of the register 8 are transferred to the buffer 4. |
