PURPOSE:To quicken the moving speed of a color filter while ensuring the movement required for the aligning accuracy of the color filter by providing a drive means driving individually 1st and 2nd color filters so as to be loaded or unloaded from/to the incident optical path by each filter element. CONSTITUTION:The 1st and 2nd color filters 5, 6 are supported by displacement generating elements 13, 14 while, e.g., a 1st class spectral characteristic filter element (e.g., yellow filter element) 21 and a 2nd class spectral characteristic filter element (e.g., cyan filter element) 22 are opposed to each other and they are moved in parallel in a direction shown in the arrow S by the elements 13, 14 to load/unload the filter elements 21, 22 to/from the incident light path of an image pickup element 7 individually. Thus, each color filter has two position stable points in its moving direction and has only to be moved by one stroke corresponding to the width of the filter element, then the reading speed is quickened.
