PURPOSE:To allow a copying device to respond to various user's requests at its maximum by computing the size of copying paper based on a 1st rule when specified copying magnification is smaller than reference magnification, and in case of larger size, computing the size based on a 2nd rule. CONSTITUTION:The copying device is provided with a copying magnification specifying means, an original size detecting means, a means for computing the size of the copying paper based on the specified copying magnification and the detected original size (the computing means computes the size of the copying paper based on the 1st rule when the specified copying magnification is smaller than the reference magnification, and in case of larger size, computes the size based on the 2nd rule), and a manual input means for inputting the reference magnification. Consequently, two kinds of computing rules can be set up in accordance with the set up reference magnification, and when the user specifies the copying magnification, either one of the rules is applied in accordance with the size relation between the reference magnification and the specified copying magnification and the size of the copying paper is selected. |
